Materials Needed:
Two pieces of paper for each pair of students. One writing utensil per pair of students.

In this activity one person is the "Computer" the other is the "Programmer". The Computer/Programmer pair will not be able to see what the other is doing. The Computer will be drawing on the piece of paper based on instructions from the Programmer (who cannot see what the Computer is drawing). The Programmer can only use commands that are related to simple geometric shapes (draw a line, draw a large circle in the upper right hand corner, etc.). The Programmer cannot say things like "draw a person next to the house". Give about 5 minutes for the pairs to complete the first drawing. Ask the students what they found most difficult and what they could do better. Then switch Computer and Programmer (keep the same pairs) and complete the activity again!
